Zone 10 Finals

A big effort from our Div 3 and Div 4 sides in the Zone finals held 15th & 16th October at Guildford Bowling Club and Club Merrylands.

Divison 3:

Wenty White 63 defeated North Epping 55 in the first semi-final on Saturday afternoon putting them into the final on Sunday against The Hills.

The final was underpinned by a tremendous effort from Jimmy Loomes’ rink (+21), ensuring Wenty were in control of the big board throughout the match. Fitzy (loss by 1) and Wilsdo (draw) had close calls.

Division 3 side is now heading to Club Dubbo & Dubbo Macquarie Bowling Clubs for the State Finals.

Divison 4:

Both Saturday matches started with Wenty leaping out of the gate to build a very solid lead. Changing wind and rink conditions saw the opposition claw back the margin putting pressure on all rinks. In their first match Wenty 59 defeated Toongabbie 55, and the afternoon match Wenty 59 defeated Putney Tennyson, earning them a spot in the Sunday final.

Sunday morning at Merrylands again had our boys take an early lead. As the conditions changed, Denistone Sports overtook them and held the lead until late in the game. Final result was Wenty 64 defeating Denistone 57.

Our Division 4 side is off to the State Finals at Warilla Bowling & Recreation Club 18th to 20th November.
